Enrolment Requirements

In order to enrol on this course you must have a basic grasp of English and maths. You must be able to use a screwdriver and similar type tools.

What will I learn on this course?

    This course is for individuals who want to create their own website from scratch, using a
    Web editor. You will cover:
     How to create web pages
     How to find, create and use suitable graphics for the web
     How to create links to other pages and websites
     How to make an appealing website that’s fun to use
     How to find a suitable hosting company
     How to promote your website on the Internet.

Assessment and Awarding Body: non-accredited

Activities and work will be assessed by your tutor.


You will be expected to attend every week. If you cannot attend you will be set work to ensure you meet your learning outcomes.

What else do I need to know?

Students need to supply a medium-sized Philips screwdriver. All software used on the course is freeware. The course uses the freeware ‘Kompozer’ WYSIWYG webpage editor. The course is project based and all students will construct a simple website as part of their learning.
