Children and Young Peoples Workforce Level 2
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but learners will need to be at least 16 years of age. Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on a practical placement as an important part of the assessment process involves evaluating “skills” in real working situations. 250 placement hours are recommended for this qualification. You will require a DBS Clearance.

Assessment and Awarding Body: NCFE/CACHE
You are required to build an e-portfolio of evidence which holds all of your assessments. Assessment methods include being observed in the workplace, assignments, reflective accounts and professional discussion.
It is a requirement that you attend 90% of the taught sessions to ensure you have the best chance of achieving the accreditation. Please think carefully before enrolling on this course if you have work commitments that may interfere with your attendance.
What else do I need to know?
As a requirement of the course you need to be working with children at least one day per week and a minimum of 250 placement hours/ work experience is needed overall. The aim of the qualification is to prepare learners to work with children between birth and 19 years of age.
What could I do next?
This qualification allows progression to the CACHE Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications and other Level 3 qualifications relating to childcare.
