Early Years Diploma Level 3 (Early Years Educator)
You should be at least 16 years old. You will need a DBS clearance. You must have attended an Advice and Guidance session.
What will I learn on this course?
The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators. Placements are required for achievement of this qualification. A minimum of 350 placement hours in an Early Years setting is required. You will need to be working with children across the age bands of 0-5.
Assessment and Awarding Body: NCFE/CACHE
You will complete an e-portfolio of evidence which will hold all assessments completed. You will be assessed using a variety of methods, such as:
Observations of you working with children
And many more.
90% minimum attendance.
What else do I need to know?
Approximately 2 years. There will be monthly taught sessions where you will be provided with the underpinning knowledge. You will also receive regular individual tutorials with your tutor. You also need to volunteer in an Early Years Setting for a minimum of 1 day every week.
GCSE English and maths are not an entry requirement, however the Early Years Workforce, does require you to hold either GCSE C grades in English and maths or Functional Skills for English and maths at Level 2 to count in the settings ratios. If required, we can sign post you for an English and maths assessment as you will need to do these qualifications alongside the Level 3 Diploma EYE.
What could I do next?
You could progress onto:
