This course is specifically for learners with learning difficulties and /or disabilities.
The course is designed for beginners, but those who have some experience are most welcome. This is an opportunity to take time out for exploring/building on a creative interest using your imagination and art skills. To join this course you must be able to follow instructions, communicate actively listen and demonstrate hand eye coordination. If you are unable to work independently you will need to come with someone to support you.
What will I learn on this Course?
The course covers a wide variety of art and recycled craft skills. The content is designed to be achievable for everyone; you will be able to personalize the items you produce. You will have the opportunity to use a range of recycled materials, creating a selection of fun projects recycling and reusing everyday objects. You will also learn about environmental and waste issues affecting our world today. Full instruction, guidance and support will enable you to create individual work in your own style whatever your ability level.
Assessment and Awarding body: non-accredited
Activities and work will be assessed by your tutor.
You will be expected to attend every week. If you cannot attend you will be set work to ensure you meet your learning outcomes. A minimum of 80% attendance is required.
What else do I need to know?
You could be asked to bring to class a selection recycled materials for a particular project. Examples are plastic bottles, tin cans, milk cartons and cardboard packaging.
