Spanish Intermediate Term 1, 2 & 3


Enrolment Requirements

This course is for those who have completed Spanish Beginners and Spanish Improvers terms one, two and three, or already have some knowledge of the language (approximately equal to 1-2 years of learning). The emphasis will be on speaking and using the language with some grammar.

What will I learn on this course?

    You will move on from relying on set phrases and learn how to form your own sentences. The course will cover topics such as:
     Talking about themselves and others
     Discussing future plans and holidays
     Describing past events and holidays
     Shopping for clothes and other items
     Giving opinions and making comparisons
    (Your tutor may cover other topics to meet the needs of your group.) You will have lots of opportunities for practising speaking and listening through role-play, pair and group work.

Assessment and Awarding Body: non-accredited

Activities and work will be assessed by your tutor.


You will be expected to attend every week. If you cannot attend, you will be set work to ensure you meet your learning outcomes.

What else do I need to know?

In addition to using various online activities and hand-outs, the course will be loosely based on the BBC book Talk Spanish 2 which is available with or without CDs.

What could I do next?

You may wish to try a different language such as French or German.
